Richard Higgins > Based on information passed to me, this building was once a department store called R.W. Forsyth. The small child-like figures are male equivalents of "caryatids" as opposed to cherubs, which have wings. The globe atop the figures had something to do with a motto the store used about being outfitters to the world.
Richard Higgins > Winged Victory of Samothrace was found on an island in the Aegean Sea. It is believed to have been created by the Greeks during the 2nd or 3rd century B.C. It was discovered broken and scattered in 118 pieces in 1863 and reassembled at the Louvre.
